Man-made Monster
-Frankenstein
"Frankenstein" was my graduation design project at SVA, which was featured in the 2021 "Man Made Monster" themed graduation exhibition at the SVA gallery in New York City. The series consists of 12 illustrations created using etching, pencil, and digital mediums, which were adapted from Mary Shelley's renowned horror novel "Frankenstein." The illustrations delve deeply into the themes of human nature, exploring the concepts of good and evil, as well as the impact of the environment on human behavior and psyche.
Telling Mary Shelley's classic horror novel Frankenstein in a dramatic way. In my Frankenstein story, the heartrending monster went through a miserable life from being innocent to sin. The man-made monster born with sympathy and disgust, I incorporate this complex emotion into every painting. The high contrast black and white form is the best way to deeply reflect the tragic nature of this tragedy.
